Where cooking meets science.
A hands-on after-school programme where children discover the science behind everyday food — by cooking, experimenting and finding things out for themselves.

From the chemistry of baking to the physics of emulsions, fermentation and heat, every session turns the kitchen into a laboratory.
Cook. Experiment. Question. Discover.
Designed for international school students | Hands-on | Science-based | No previous cooking experience required.
SCIENCE YOU CAN EAT
Why does bread rise?
Why does an egg change when we heat it?
Why does chocolate melt?
What makes a cake fluffy?
How can oil and water become one?
Why does fermentation change food?
In Kitchen Science, these aren’t just questions from a textbook.
They are things we can test in the kitchen.
Children cook real food, carry out experiments, observe changes, make predictions and discover the science behind what they see.
And yes — we eat our experiments.

WHAT MAKES KITCHEN SCIENCE SPECIAL?
Why Kitchen Science?
🔬 Science they can see, touch and taste
Children don’t just learn scientific concepts — they experience them. They observe changes, test ideas, make predictions and discover cause and effect.
👩🍳 Real cooking skills
Cooking is at the heart of every session.
Children learn how to prepare ingredients, use kitchen tools safely, follow recipes, work with different techniques and create dishes from scratch.
🧠 Curiosity-driven learning
Every session starts with a question, a mystery or a surprising observation.
Children are encouraged to ask “Why?”, make predictions, test their ideas and think about what they could change next time.
✨ Confidence through discovery
Not every experiment works perfectly — and that’s a good thing.
Children learn that mistakes are part of the process, and that trying again, changing something and looking for a solution is how real learning happens.
🤝 Teamwork & communication
Cooking and experimenting together means sharing tasks, discussing ideas, solving problems and learning from one another.
🌱 Skills for life
Alongside science and cooking, children develop independence, organisation, precision and confidence — skills they can take far beyond the kitchen.
✨A sense of achievement
There is something special about creating something with your own hands and being able to say: “I made this myself.”
WHAT WILL CHILDREN TAKE AWAY?
Kitchen Science is about much more than making something delicious.
Every recipe is an investigation.
A Kitchen Science class doesn’t start with:
“Today we’re going to learn about emulsions.”
It starts with:
“Can we make oil and water stay together?”
Then we investigate.
01 — QUESTION
We begin with a scientific or culinary mystery.
02 — PREDICT
Children share their ideas and make predictions.
03 — EXPERIMENT
We mix, measure, heat, cool, bake, test and observe.
04 — DISCOVER
We work out what happened and uncover the science behind it.
05 — COOK
We use what we’ve learned to create something delicious.
06 — REFLECT
We discuss the results and ask:
“What would happen if…?”

WHAT MIGHT WE EXPLORE?
Every session brings a new question, technique or scientific phenomenon.
- Heat & transformation 🔥
What happens to food when we heat, cool, freeze or bake it? - The chemistry of cooking 🧪
Explore acids, bases, proteins, starches, sugars and the reactions that transform ingredients. - Emulsions & mixtures 🫧 Why do some ingredients combine beautifully while others refuse to cooperate?
- Fermentation 🍞
How can tiny microorganisms transform flour, milk or vegetables? - The science of baking 🍰
Why does dough rise? What makes a cake fluffy? How do gluten, air and temperature affect the final result? - Taste, smell & perception 👃
How do our senses influence the way we experience food? - Measurement & precision ⚖️
Explore ratios, quantities, temperature and timing — and discover why small changes can make a big difference.
Different questions. Different experiments. Different recipes.
But always the same idea: learn by doing.
MORE THAN A COOKING CLASS
Kitchen Science brings together science, cooking, creativity, communication and practical life skills in one experience.
Children don’t just learn about science. They use it.
They don’t just follow recipes. They investigate them.
They don’t just learn vocabulary. They use it to communicate.
And they don’t just watch someone else cook. They do it themselves.
Instead of boring science classes, we serve you 90 minutes of hands-on discovery.
Question → Experiment → Cook → Taste → Discover
Every session combines scientific exploration with practical cooking.
Children work actively throughout the class rather than watching demonstrations from the sidelines.

WHO IS KITCHEN SCIENCE FOR?
Kitchen Science is designed for curious children who:
✔️ love asking “Why?”
✔️ enjoy experiments and discovering how things work
✔️ like making things with their hands
✔️ are interested in food and cooking
✔️ enjoy trying new things
✔️ want to become more independent
✔️ are ready to get a little messy while learning something amazing
No previous cooking or science experience is required.
DESIGNED FOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS
Kitchen Science is delivered in English and designed with the needs of international school students in mind.
Children use English naturally while:
- following instructions,
- discussing observations,
- asking questions,
- working in teams,
- learning scientific vocabulary,
- explaining their ideas.
So English becomes part of the experience — not another subject to study.

Together, we bring two worlds together.
Cooking expertise + science expertise + experience in international education.
The result is a programme where cooking and scientific inquiry genuinely work together — not simply a cooking class with a few experiments added on.
